Emerging Leaders Volunteer Project for The Harbour

  • May 03, 2019
  • 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Shelter Site in Des Plaines

The Emerging Leaders Shared Interest Group has partnered with our 2019 charity, The Harbour, to bring our members a BOMA-exclusive, hands-on volunteer project! On Friday, May 3 our Emerging Leaders invite you to join them in their efforts to help renovate and refurnish one of The Harbour’s shelter sites, located in Des Plaines.

The project involves painting the site’s “Resource Room,” which is used for the young ladies to do their homework and apply to jobs. The project also includes the painting of additional bedrooms so the Emerging Leaders will need all hands on deck. Please take some time out of your busy schedules to give back for a great cause! Come for the whole day, half a day, or as much time as you can afford!

Sign up to volunteer for the May 3rd project by Friday, April 26.

Perhaps you can't attend this Emerging Leaders hands-on project but would still like to contribute. That is great! There is an easy way that you can help. Take a look at The Harbour's Amazon Wish List to start supporting the needs of their clients. Items marked as "Shelter Resource Room" will be used to furnish the room.

Please help BOMA/Suburban Chicago and the Emerging Leaders make this a successful volunteer effort!

Sign up to volunteer today!

Thank you to our generous members who have been donating supplies and items for this worthy project!

  • Clarion Construction, Inc. has committed to provide most of the paint and painting supplies to complete the project.
  • Deli-Time L.L.C.-Corporate Affair Catering will be donating lunch to all of the volunteers and staff the day of the project.
  • Quiet Light Solutions, LLC has committed to donating 3 energy efficient lighting fixtures to replace the ones currently inside the home.
